{Script} My character
Questions
What surrounds me?Broken mirrors in the hotel bathroom.
What are my given circumstances?
Its like I don't own anything my body and my soul. My ears house my compassion, everything around me its just a reminder of what I am and who I belong to.
What are my relationships?
The only reminder I have on my mother is what she would always tell me about life, that we must rid ourselves of attachment and then we can be on the path to enlightenment.
He chose me, but we don't have a choice on not wanting to leave. so he keeps me for his personal pleasure with all the other girls.
My character would be a girl named Jorani who suffered quite a lot in her life, she is a young teen who was taken from her home to work in a brothel. She looks at herself in a mirror but doesn't see herself as she was before but a bruised and a broken teenage girl. The only thoughts that run through her head is of her what her mother told her, which is "we all must rid ourselves from attachments and then we can be on the path to enlightenment".

For my silent sister- No more mirrors http://www.tarameddaugh.com/no-more-mirrors
A really good reason http://www.tarameddaugh.com/a-really-good-reason-monologue
Is about a women in her twenties, she talks to her friends and explains why she no longer can be friends with her. its not about what she does or things she does. but its because her friend is looking a lot prettier and the boys are noticing and she doesn't want her friends to be her rival.
Iowa is so gonna be jealous http://www.tarameddaugh.com/iowa-is-gonna-be-so-jealous-monologue
Is about a boy named Ryan around 8-15 years old He is on a safari with his parents, he is in the safari jeep. A camping pack had just fallen off the jeep and a rhino charged at it while the jeep was driving. He then tells his parents.
All three scripts I like but,
I choose No more mirrors from for my silent sister script because I think it suits me well and I could really express what the story is telling.

Maori Performing arts
Convention
Dance
The term kapa haka derives its meaning from two words: kapa (to stand in rows) and haka (Māori dance). It is used to describe both a Māori performing arts group (a kapa haka group) and the Māori performing arts in general, which include haka, poi, and waiata ā-ringa.
Many of the dance movements involve gestures of the hands, arms, and face and originate from warrior training or images of nature (for example, the movement of wiri originated from the shimmer of heat on the land).
Costumes
Artefacts worn or carried for warmth, protection, embellishment, or symbolic purposes.
Most of the Maori costume used are practically just cultural and the they design the costumes on the meaning of the performance. Most patterns used refer to the nature and the ocean.
Music
Maoris refer to music as a waiata. Contemporary Maori music continues to evolve, using traditional practises in the conjunction with the modern tools and the methods to create a distinctive sound
Chanting
Māori used chants, song, and dance to record their history, to convey feelings, to express ideas, to tell stories, to celebrate important events, and to protest and persuade. Kapa haka, which combines movement, song, and chant, forms an integral part of Māori culture and ways of life.
Comparing
The Maori create there stories from old myths about there culture and heritage which is the same as the pasifika people. From where I'm from we create performing arts from old myths and stories from the olden days for others to hear how the culture came about and about the heritage.

Understanding art in context.
Manga

* I chose this image because it shows a lot of details and it would be easy to copy.
* I could use some details in it to improve my drawing.
Kowhaiwhai

* I chose this image because it reflects on what it is from and how it started.
* I could use some patterns to add more meaning to my picture/drawing
Pasifika

* I chose this because I am Samoan and I love to draw the cultural flowers and a lot more about nature, and I get to add pattern which can represent me.
* I can use it to represent myself and for others to see the culture through my image or drawing.
Art Nouveau

* I chose this because it has the feels that are inviting and welcoming and it kind of looks like a nature theme and that is what I am looking forward to drawing.
* I could use the type of style in it the mirroring the design or pattern for a improved drawing.
Pasifika and Art Nouveau
These type of art form has some similarities and some not.
they both have that welcoming feel to it and some drawings are either natural or cultural which is what I think is similar about it.
The difference is that both use different colours and sometimes a different style which is unfamiliar to the pasifika art form.
