Wave and Energy

Energy Transformation

Energy lets us do work and is required to make anything happen.this isn't a substance that can be seen or touched but we can observe its affect. Energy is measured in joules {J}
This exists in many forms it can also be transformed from one to another but it can't be created or destroyed. Energy transformation cause all of the change that occurs around you.

Wasted Energy

Some energy transformations are mot always well planned. When energy is transferred from one form to another, some of the initial energy is transferred to a form which is not wanted for example, consider an electrical light bulb. The wanted energy transformation is electrical energy to light energy.

What is wave?

There are many types of waves for example there is longitudinal wave and transverse wave as well. The longitudinal wave vibrate parallel to the direction, there are travelling by alternatively compressing and stretching. Longitudinal waves are sound waves.
Light waves and ocean waves are an example of transverse waves.This wave is like a wave you see in the ocean they also travel up and down at 90 degrees to the direction they are travelling.

Measuring waves

Transverse waves have three important measurements.
Amplitude is the top or the height of the crest of a wave when measured from the rest position.
Wavelength is the distance between two crests or trough.
Frequency is the number of waves that pass a point in one second. measured in Hertz {Hz}
