RESULT - When we finished the practical the result was that when we added the sand water in the filter paper through the funnel clear water came through and the sand was left in the paper.

CONCLUSION - That by using the filter paper the sand water will come out as clear water without any sand or dirt, which means that you can separate sand and water by filtering.
