03/08/18

Chapter 5

1. What does Corrie’s choice in career say about her character?
* That she cares about other people and she wants to do something good for people in need. So her character is of those who are kind and generous.

2. The group’s ability to avoid arguing with each other is rare- do you think that there would have been more drama if you and your friends went bush for a week?
* I don't think so, because we would be busy exploring the place and identifying new things instead of having arguments and causing drama.

3. Why do you think Ellie and Lee feel uneasy just before their return to Wirrawee from the Bush?
* Because of how everything felt a little different, and the talks they had about the planes and wars gave them uneasy feelings. Also the conversations they had implied many different ideas on what would change when they get back home.

4. What do you predict will await the group back home, why do you think this?
* I think something big will happen and things changed to something really bad.

Chapter 6

1. What is the first sign that something is wrong at Ellie’s house?
* When they stood outside the house and everything was quiet, but Ellie knew they had dogs and they would bark when someone comes close to the house. Also when she saw her dogs they looked dead.

2. Who is the first person to really realize what is happening?
* Corrie

3. What is Ellie’s reaction to this person’s caution? Why do you think she reacts this way?
* It was because she was making connections to fast and Ellie was overthinking everything.

4. How is the pace in this chapter different from the chapters before?
* It seemed like everything was going in a fast pace as before when they were just laying around doing nothing, but now they have a lot to do and think about.

5. If you were in this situation, would you test the radio or not? Give reasons for your thinking
* Yes I would test the radio because everything was out and that could give us something to think about if it was on.

6. Do you think the way the teenagers reacted to the realization that Australia may have been invaded or at war was realistic? Why/why not
* Yes because no one could be seen everything was quiet and the power was out.

7. What possible reasons exist that could spark war or invasion of Australia?
* The people not being around the power the was cut off, including the animals dying.
